Clear, structured insight into how you or your child think, learn and communicate.

Spectrum Insight provides assessments for children, young people and adults, shaped by a real understanding of autism and led by our qualified Autism Assessment Practitioners, BA (Hons).

This is not a diagnostic assessment. A formal diagnosis requires a multidisciplinary team, in line with NICE guidance. Spectrum Insight provides structured insight that can support that wider process.

Tools backed by evidence

Assessments are informed by ADOS-2 and ADI-R, the leading tools that trained professionals use to explore communication, social interaction and behaviour.

All ages, toddler to adult

Whether it's a young child starting school or an adult seeking to understand their own profile, the assessment is tailored to the person in front of us.

Clear next steps

Every assessment ends with a written report and a feedback session. You leave with practical guidance for home, school, or the workplace, and support for onward referral where appropriate.

Who this is for

Spectrum Insight works with children and young people, adults seeking greater understanding of their own profile, families currently awaiting a diagnostic assessment, and individuals who need evidence to support access to services.

If you're not sure whether this is the right fit, a short initial conversation is the easiest way to find out.

What the assessment provides

  • A clear understanding of strengths and needs
  • Insight into communication and interaction profile
  • Identification of practical support strategies
  • Guidance for home, education or the workplace
  • Support for referral to further diagnostic services where appropriate

How it works

A short path in five steps, from first conversation to a written report you can act on.

1. Initial consultation

A brief conversation or screening questionnaire to check a full assessment is the right next step.

2. Information gathering

Developmental history and, where relevant, input from family, partners or school.

3. Assessment & feedback

Structured interview and observation, followed by a written report and a session to talk through it together.
